Mechanical engineering has been one of the fundamental disciplines of engineering and has undergone significant changes to accommodate the emerging trends in the scientific and technological sectors. Many mechanical engineers specialize in areas such as manufacturing, robotics, automotive/transportation, power generation and air conditioning.
In the Department of Mechanical Engineering, these activities are reflected in the way we organize our teaching efforts. The department of Mechanical Engineering strives to prepare students for careers in industry, academia and government organization in mechanical and allied engineering. To improve continuously the quality of the teaching-learning process and set standards that other institute would want to emulate.
WCTM Gurugram has established the Centre of Excellence in Automation Technologies in collaboration with Panasonic. The centre has an infrastructure with state-of-the-art technologies, equipment, training kits, hardware and software e.g. Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Sensorics, PLCs, Drives & Control and Mechatronics. The centre aims to provide training to undergraduate students of engineering to meet industry requirements.
WCTM provides education to the next generation of designers/engineers on state-of-the-art software such as SolidWorks and Autocad for digital product engineering.
WCTM has established a product development centre in response to the need arising from students requiring a dedicated space and appropriate equipment to develop their projects such as Go-Kart, Robotics, etc. It focussed on promoting innovation.
