Dr. Shamta Chugh is a Professor in the Department of Applied Science (Mathematics) with overall 25 years of experience in reputed institutions. She holds an M.Sc. (Mathematics, 1999) and M.Phil. (Mathematics, 2000) from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and earned her Ph.D. (Mathematics, 2011) from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar.
A dedicated educator and researcher, she specializes in Solid Mechanics, with her doctoral research focusing on the “Two-Dimensional Deformation of an Anisotropic Medium.” Her work has significant applications in Rock Mechanics, Fracture Mechanics, Civil Engineering, Geophysics, and Geomechanics.
She has extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering subjects such as Business Research Methods, Operations Research, Quantitative Techniques, Engineering Mathematics, Discrete Structures, Applied Computational Statistics, Applied Numerical Techniques, Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Business Statistics, and more.
Dr. Shamta Chugh is an active contributor to the academic community, having presented research papers, delivered invited talks, and chaired sessions at various national and international conferences. She has attended numerous workshops, short-term courses, and faculty development programs on Mathematics, Smart Materials, and the Art of Learning. Additionally, she has published several research papers in reputed international and national journals.
