About the Course

Medical Lab Technicians play a dynamic role in a comprehensive health system by performing diagnostic tests, ruling out the provisional diagnosis of the physician detecting diseases, and regulating therapy and treatment. The trainee learns to perform various tests on body fluids and other specimens with accuracy, handling advanced instruments, quality control, and validation of the results.

The course envisages building overall expertise in the student in performing medical laboratory tests, whether it is routine or special tests. These students would be capable of performing a range of tests related to phlebotomy, clinical biochemistry, haematology, serology, cytogenetics, etc. Besides, skills related to lab management and ethics, biomedical waste disposal, personality development, and effective communication skills would also be developed in them.

Eligibility

  • 10+2 (PCM/PCB) or 10+2 and L4 certificate in the relevant field, Or
  • 10th plus (2 or 3 years) Diploma, or
  • 10 plus ITI (2 years) with one language subject (Hindi or English).
