B.Tech Automobile Engineering


The department offers 4 year undergraduate (B. Tech) and 2 year postgraduate (M. Tech) programme. B.Tech. in Automobile Engineering programme was started in the year 2010 with an intake capacity of 60 students which has now been increased to 120 w.e.f. year 2012 academic session. The Automobile Engineering Department played a leading role in evolving an 'Engineering Science' based curriculum, and served as a role model for many academic institutes in the country.

The academic activities are supported by 10 laboratories. The laboratories and workshops in the department have the best equipments and are maintained impeccably. Constant and careful attention to the departmental infrastructure has immensely helped in keeping it up-to-date, thus equipping the students with the necessary tools to acquire technical know-how.

Teaching at the WCTM is highly practical and focused on what the industry needs as it is evolved through constant interaction with leading professionals who are a part of the Industry and Academics. Dedicated faculty-members keep pace with new trends and developments in the sphere of Automobile Engineering. Qualified faculty members assigned with various theory subjects prepare course plans with emphasis on 'learning' of the students. The instructional or lecture delivery of the faculty will be through a set of Educational Technology / Tools opted by the faculty. We consistently organize seminars, workshops, faculty and staff development programmes on wide-ranging topics every year. The department has very good industry-institute interaction and organizes technical talks and industrial visits for students periodically to provide an opportunity for the students to interact with working professionals from industry. Attendance is taken by the concerned faculty at the beginning of each session. All the classes begin on time and students coming late are not given attendance.
